Is there anything more frightening than a story about a global pandemic? Okay, it actually happening is a little more terrifying, but the public loves a good scary movie, and it looks like Contagion fits the bill.

The movie will make its world premiere in about a week at the Venice Film Festival, and a little over a week after, it will premiere in the U.S.

Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the flick is already getting good buzz. The first pictures were eerie, with Gwyneth Paltrow's character looking completely pale and aghast. Now Soderbergh has released three more photos...

The beautiful and always gracious Marion Cotillard graces the July issue of Vogue. The cover magazine was shot by famed photographer Mario Testino.

In the mag she talks about her Oscar winning performance in La Vien en Rose and the inspiration she found for her character in Nine.

You can read the tidbits from the interview below :

On playing in the Expressionist-Surrealist band Yodelice fronted by composer Mazim Nucci: “I play the bass guitar, keyboard, and tambourine—I’m their one-woman band and all-purpose maid,” Cotillard explains. She’s taken to appearing with Yodelice on tour, dressed as a man, under “Simone,” the name of her maternal grandmother. “It’s pretty refreshing to be in a situation where the spotlight is on someone else.”

On her Oscar winning portrayal of Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose: When the film was over, she couldn’t shake Piaf. Her hairline and her eyebrows were still shaved. She fled with Canet to Peru and the Amazon; she went to Bora Bora with her best friend, Geraldine. “It was there that I found myself articulating why Piaf was still living inside me. She had been abandoned as a child; her greatest fear was to be alone. Now I didn’t want to abandon her. I finally was able to say, ‘She’s been dead for 40 years; it’s OK.’”

On Her inspiration for her character in the musical Nine: She goes into every character as deeply: lived on the Menominee reservation for Billie Frechette, spent four months learning to dance for Luisa in Nine. Her inspirations for the cockolded director’s wife included Fellini’s wife, Giulietta Masina, and Eleanor Coppola’s documentary Hearts of Darkness, about the shooting of Apocalypse Now. Photos of Audrey Hepburn gave her “the hairdo with the big personality, the thick bangs and the ponytail. You paint your character with colors you have taken from everywhere.”
Call it the curse of the Oscar! According to reports Sandra Bullock's husband Jesse James has been a very naughty boy. He reportedly cheated on Sandra with Michelle 'Bombshell' McGee, a tattoo model he met while Sandra was away filming The Blind Side.

McGee tells In Touch weekly, "I would never have hooked up with him if I thought he was a married man. He gave me the impression they were separated."

McGee met Jesse when she inquired about modeling for his West Coast Choppers company. She added, "We ended up on the couch. He wanted to watch movies, but I asked him, 'What's going on with you and Sandra?' He said, 'She doesn't live here. She has a house in Austin. She is filming, and I can't talk about it.' "

In the wake of the cheating scandal, Sandra canceled her scheduled appearance for the London premiere of The Blind Side. "Due to unforeseen personal reasons a trip abroad to support The Blindside has been deemed impossible at this time," Bullock, 45, said in a statement Wednesday. "I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your continued support of the film."

Sandra's not the only Oscar winner facing marital woes right now. Earlier this week Kate Winslet announced that she and her director husband of six years, Sam Mendes, were separating. We should have known something was up when she thanked Leo in her speech instead of her hubby! And these two aren't the only ones. Let's take a stroll down Oscar memory lane:

  • In 2006 Reese Witherspoon won Best Actress for her role in Walk in the Line and less than six months later she filed for divorce from Ryan Phillippe after he allegedly cheated on her with his Stop-Loss co-star Abbie Cornish. Ryan and Abbie dated for four years after the divorce and finally called it quits last month.

  • In 2004 Charlize Theron took home the Best Actress award for her role in Monster and thanked her longtime partner Stuart Townsend. "You're one incredible partner, thank you so much for standing by me," she told him. They split amicably last month.

  • In 2002 Halle Berry took home the Best Actress award for her incredible performance in Monsters Ball. She took her mother to the show as her date and later found out her husband Eric Benét was in bed with another woman during the show. Real classy Eric!

  • In 2001 the always lovable Julia Roberts won Best Actress for her role in Erin Brokovich. She thanked then boyfriend Benjamin Bratt. They split shortly after.

So far the only leading ladies who have won the Best Actress award in the last decade and haven’t made this list are Nicole Kidman, Helen Mirren and Marion Cotillard. But for the record Nicole and Marion were both unmarried at the time of their win.

So is there such a thing as an Oscar curse? Or is this just one big coincidence?
It happens every year. For all the countless categories at the Academy Awards categories, there are always those who get snubbed.

This year, we noticed a few notable actors who were left out of the nominations list, as well as some blockbuster hits we were hoping would sneak through the cracks. Here’s a list of our biggest Oscar snubs of 2010.

Beginning with the actor/actress category, several people were left out this year! Brad Pitt for Inglourious Basterds, Daniel Day-Lewis for his role in Nine, and Alec Baldwin for his supporting role in It’s Complicated.

As far as the ladies, Diane Kruger wasn’t given a nod for Basterds, and former Oscar winner Marion Cotillard was left out in lieu of Penelope Cruz.

In the Best Picture category, we weren’t expecting the Academy to stoop to low as to honor a bunch of roofied bachelors in Vegas, but we were still hoping The Hangover would get some recognition.

Guess we’ll have to settle for a Golden Globe! 500 Days of Summer got snubbed across the board, as well as Star Trek, and Michael Jackson’s This Is It.

Chime in on any of your faves who got left out this year in the comments below!

I'd also like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Jones and to Matthew Weiner and the writers and producers for the recognition they've received as well. I'd also like to come up with something witty and off-the-cuff to add, but it's so, so early out here, and I'm so, so tired."
-– Jon Hamm, Best Actor in a Television Series-Drama for Mad Men
