After what felt like months of annoying behind-the-scenes gossip about the judging panel on “American Idol,” the fateful day has finally arrived.
“American Idol” premiered last night and all that “Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj hate each other” drama is completely true.
Nicki constantly interrupted Mariah, offering up more than her fair share of eye rolls and obnoxious sighing.
Mariah, being the diva that she is, mentioned her holiday hit, “All I Want For Christmas,” which I’ll admit is borderline nauseating, Nicki heard this and clenched her fists and under her breath muttered, “b*tch.”
Yah, and then Nicki would talk in a British accent just because she knew it annoyed Mariah and sometimes Mariah would yell out “Nicki” in a motherly kind of way, as if she were yelling at a child.
While I believe this diva-feud is 99% calculated for the screen, Ryan Seacrest delivered right on cue, “You know that there’s going to be a little bit of potential personality conflict. Our superstars were super passionate from the get-go.”
Randy Jackson and Keith Urban, dare I say it, came off as a little boring, because all they did was try to seek out good talent.
By the end of the show, Nicki was muttering to camera operators, “I have to strangle one of the divas on the panel, but I won’t tell you who.”
Is it Mariah? It’s Mariah huh?
Anyways, if you like FOX assisted diva battles and luke-warm singing talent, then you need to watch “American Idol” this season.
