Mariah Carey to Adopt?

Singer Mariah Carey may be jumping on the Angelina Jolie adoption bandwagon soon. Mimi visited a Mexican orphanage with her lawyer recently and rumor has it that the singer is interested in adoption.

The pop diva spent time at the Frank Gonzalez orphanage in Mexico and may adopt a child from there. There is no official confirmation from Carey's reps but sources reveal it may be in the works.

Crazy or not, I can't BELIEVE women like Mariah and Brit can't find good, reliable guys to settle down with for these things. All I can say is if she does decide to adopt, I hope she adopts a kid from the US really in need instead of this "spreading the adoption wealth" to other countries' kids all the time.

i don't think she's mentally ready for a child because of her career and stress that she's been through but if she does decide to adopt best wishes to her and the child.

mariah isnt adopting a child, she always spends time at foster home, unlike most celebrities, she gives time to the less fortunate from the heart and not a publicity stunt, but ill have 2 agree wit the above, her career is too hectic and a child wont fit in the picture

I don't think she is going to adopt but if she does, that's great. I adopted 2 boys a few years ago. These children really need a good home. If you guys have a job and a home, please open it up to a child in need. It isn't as "pretty" as people make it seem but God knows that there is a need and we need to stop talking about it and do something about it.

ya'll need to stop thinking your gospel or something. Mariah ian't dumb enough to adopt a child right now. Plus people fail to mention that she's been in a stable telationship with the co executive producer of The Emancipation of Mimi Mark Sudack since 2003. She just doesn't have 2 flaunt it 2 the world like most celebs to get extra publicity.

alright. this is really annoying. there are a few people who commented saying that celebs need to adopt American kids. you all are so off base it's sad. let me fill you in. the reason a lot of people [famous or not] adopt outside of the US is one HUGE reason. IT'S A LOT EASIER!!! the American foster system is basically one big ball of red tape & caution signs. unlike other countries, unless the parents sign their children over to the state, they always have the right to take their kids back. even if some woman is a crack head & the government takes her children & puts them in a GOOD, LOVING foster home, she can still petition for custody, which draws the adoption process out, in turn costing A LOT of money. So if foster parents or someone who potentially wanted a child, tried to adopt it could take YEARS before they're even ELIGIBLE, let alone able. but in foreign countries, they basically want to get rid of the orphans because the orphanages are overpopulated. i think some of you should educate yourselves before you criticize other peoples decisions. these celebrities have MILLIONS of dollars & a TON of people around them telling them what is in their best interests. if you think they haven't researched American adoption, you're an idiot.
