Maria Menounos. biography
Actress, news correspondent Maria Menounos was born on June 8, 1978, in Medford, Massachusetts, and got her first taste of the spotlight competing in beauty pageants. Her commanding presence on stage earned her the 1996 Miss Massachusetts Team USA title and later placed her in the top 15 at Miss Teen USA, before finishing in second at the Miss Massachusetts USA in 2000.
While a senior at Emerson College in Boston, Maria landed her first reporting gig for Channel One News and soon realized her passion for journalism while traveling across North and South America. In 2002, Maria got her big break when she was hired as a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight, which opened up many doors for the talented reporter, including a co-hosting position for ET on MTV and VH1.
Maria eventually left the TV program to pursue a career in acting and made her first TV series appearance in Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (2002). She went on to reoccurring roles in several hit series, including One Tree Hill (2004 - 2005), before making her big-screen debut in the super hero flick Fantastic Four (2005).
In 2006, Maria landed a promising future as a special correspondent for ET's rival Access Hollywood (2006 - 2011) and continued gaining popularity in Hollywood as the host for both the TV series The Challenge (2009 - 2011) and MTV's The Real World (2009 - 2012). She eventually left Access Hollywood and joined forces with Extra in 2011, and finally became an official celebrity when she starred in the reality dance competition series Dancing with the Stars in 2012.
Maria's upcoming film projects include, the comedy Adventures of Serial Buddies (2013) with Christopher Lloyd and the comedy Paranormal Movie (2013).
