Meryl Streep's Daughter Gets Engaged

Meryl Streep's daughter, Mamie Gummer is getting hitched!

Her boyfriend, stage actor Ben Walker popped the question on Sunday and caught her by surprise, Mamie revealed at the annual Whitney Gala Monday night, sponsored by Versace.

"Yeah, he sure did," Gummer said after she was asked if got down on one knee adding that her family is overjoyed. "They're all very happy … we're very, very smiley."

So what is it about Walker that Gummer loves? "We'll, look how tall he is," she said. "He's very nice. He puts up with me. And he's very patient."

Congrats to the happy couple!
