Maggie Gyllenhaal for Agent Provocateur

What's the lingerie world coming to? It's just been reported that new mother Maggie Gyllenhaal will be the new spokesmodel for the sexy lingerie line Agent Provocateur.

Gyllenhaal will appear in videos for the British company's online advertising campaign. Last year, Kate Moss' appearance in an Agent Provocateur short movie was such a big hit, the company's website crashed.

Gyllenhaal is way too 'girl next door' for this, they had a sea of models/actresses to pick from, I can't for the life of me figure out why they choose her. What do you guys think? Do you guys think she's 'sexy' enough to pull off Agent Provocateur?

I think she's sexy enough given enough airbrushing and lip pouting but I think it's moreso of a PR move they cast her since she just had the baby. The whole "Women rule even after pregnancy" thing, I think.

I can't help it, I can't stand her, I think she's hideous. I was reading the wanted ads one day a few months ago and they had an add for an assistant that could be a "secretary" and referenced that movie.

I don't agree w/her political opinions but I think she's still sexy. And, don't get me wrong, I believe women ARE the fairer sex, but I just don't understand why they feel the need to constantly have to beat us over the head w/it. I KNOW pregnant women are beautiful etc. and women are great, the media can give it a rest already. They act like we're constantly still in the 50's where men don't believe that and it's absolute BS.

Umm, Why not Paris Hilton, i am not the least bit a fan BUT she would look great in their AD's. There are so many other fav and no fav starletts i can think of BUT as much as America hates Paris, she is GREAT at selling and would be a great face for this campaign... Just a thought!

I agree with the comments above - they are trying to sell to the demographic of mothers that want to feel sexy too. I think even Kate Moss was, to a certain extent, a step in that direction. Almost like a "Look! This person is a mom and still damn sexy! You can be too!" Especially since Maggie has more of the normal woman appeal that Kate Moss doesn't have, since she is a supermodel.

I Have to say she is really not very pretty !!! Women want to but lingerie to look like that sexy person/model in the ads. Who wants to buy something with an average women in it. "oh is that what it looks like on" :( do you get what I'm saying! RIGHT!!!??

She is definitely sexy. She is intelligent, talented, quirky, and because she hasn't plastered herself all over the tabloids, there is something even sexier about her - mystery.

Have any of you seen Kate Moss lately without the advantage of air-brushing. I never thought she was all that any way, too much of the hard faced slapper image. Maggie Gyllenhaal is gorgeous and has two thing that make a woman really sexy - intelligence and a sense of humour. "Agent Provocateur" have pulled a master-stroke (!!) with this signing!

Of all the youth in Hollywood, Maggie has the most unique look. She's the edgiest actress out there. She's smart, sophisticated, eloquent, beautiful. She's a great pick, I think. I couldn't disagree with you haters more. She's definitely sexy. Something about her eyes, and her stare...Kate Moss, LOOK OUT!

good god do any of u even know what AP is about?? so what if shes 'girl next door' looking? I work 4 AP and should prob inform u all that its not actually about being sexy per say..its more about the naughtyness of it all, being a bit dirty and cheeky. having the 'girl next door' look just adds to the dirtyness of it all. wearing sexy suspenders and seam and heel stocking around the house, wearing crotchless panties to a friendly neighbourhood dinner party etc etc... indulge in the fantasy. ALSO, maggie has quite an unusual look about her, plus shes quite down to earth not like Paris (not even gonna elaborate on the horrific-ness of THAT comment below) which is always an appealing aspect. thats why kate was signed, because of her patying lifestyle..appeals to the dark side of ppl etc etc. oh and she got dropped cause she faught with serena rees for having an affair with the drummer from The Clash (in respone to one of the other comments).i think it was an excellent move to sign her. well done to serena and joe x

it makes me so mad when they use those tall, skinny supermodel type women to model lingerie. they should use more regular sized and shaped women like maggie for this kind of thing. i think its brilliant. considering the fact that it IS normal, average sized women who will be buying the lengerie in the first place. lingerie is not ALL for men, you know. some sexy things can in fact be for women as well. not everything is about men and whatever they think.

I don't think she is pretty nor sexy. Just my opinon. When you think of AP sex comes to mind and Maggie G. does not fit the bill. With soooo many choices I feel that they went with the wrong one. Sorry.

People keep mentioning Maggie's girl-next-door average body shape. The fact is that she's skinnier and more beautiful than any of those of you who are slamming her. Why dont you all try and have a child and look as impeccable as she does, then come back and comment on whether or not she's right for the job. She's intelligent, beautiful and sexy. She fits the bill perfectly.
