Somebody is definitely not a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Madonna was nominated against Sir Elton John at the Golden Globes last night for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture and after she took home the Globe, Elton John’s husband David Furnish WENT OFF on Facebook declaring, “Madonna. Best Song??? F-ck off!!”
That’s not all he wrote, “Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it’s narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.”
True, Madonna did spend the majority of her acceptance speech talking about how she was so great at directing what she referred to as “my movie” and how the creative vision for the song simple came to her, even though she was sooo busy and hard at work directing her movie Blah blah blah, fake British accent, blah blah Pilates arms.
David Furnish may have lashed out after the awards ceremony, but Sir Elton John wasn’t a fan of Madonna before the show either.
Speaking to reporters on the red carpet, John said that Madonna “doesn’t have a f-cking chance of winning tonight.” When a reported mentioned that those were some “fighting words”, Sir Elton John responded, “No, those are accurate words.”
Geez, this is more heated than what was going on inside the Golden Globes ceremony where the usually scathing Ricky Gervais made a Kim Kardashian and a Johnny Depp joke early on in the program and bowed out for the rest of the telecast to presumably drink more beer?
Anyways, when Madonna caught wind of what Sir Elton was saying about her, she asked reporters, “Was he wearing a dress?” Ouch. And yes, Madonna, he was. It was Vivienne Westwood. I’m just kidding, I have no idea, it was probably Alexander McQueen. Then Madonna simply mocked, “May the best man win.”
After she won the award, Madonna probably realized that she shouldn’t make fun of Elton John anymore.
“I hope he speaks to me for the next couple of years,” she admitted, “He’s known to get mad at me. He’s brilliant and I adore him, so he will win another award. And I don’t feel bad!”
