Expect an official statement within the next 48 hours from Madonna’s camp in regards to the adoption rumors. Despite Madonna’s reps slamming reports of adoption, the UK Sun claims the Material Girl has adopted a 13-month-old boy named David Banda.
The babies mother Marita had died from childbirth complications and the father Yohane Banda is excited for his son’s upcoming opportunities.
Yohane 32, told the paper: 'I am very, very happy because as you can see there is poverty in this village and I know he will be very well looked after in America.
News also comes through that Madonna and Guy Ritchie have been granted an interim adoption order allowing the celebrity couple to leave Africa with a one-year-old boy. There was uncertainty for the couple since under Malawian law nobody can adopt until they have fostered a child for two years, while living in the country.
But this afternoon Assistant High Court Register Thomson Ligowe said Judge Andrew Nyirenda: "have just given out an interim order" that would allow Madonna to take baby David Banda.
Despite receiving the father's blessing, aid workers have attacked Madonna and Ritchie’s adoption claiming that it undermines efforts to keep children within communities. They argue that rather than whisking children off to a foreign land there should be more help directed towards helping extended families care for orphans.
