Madonna Thinks She Needs To Be A 'Tougher' Parent

When Madonna is your mom, life should be pretty sweet., right? But, when mom decides to buckle down with her parenting, well, that’s just not cool.

The Material Girl appeared on the “Today Show" Wednesday and got into her life as a mom and international music sensation, describing her life as a “metaphorical fish bowl”

I smell a song lyric…

The incident that made a topic like this even relevant was an image published of Madonna’s 15-year-old daughter, Lourdes Leon, smoking a cigarette.

Never mind all the cigarettes we’ve seen Madonna smoking in previously published photos and films, the pop star is crackling the whip.

“I think I need to be, maybe, tougher,” she passively asserted, “I’m probably not as tough as I should be.”

However, one can hardly feel bad for Lourdes.

What does it mean to be disciplined by someone like Madonna, anyway? “I’m docking your weekly allowance to $2,000. And no more dessert after your driving lessons in the Maseratis.”

The mother-daughter pair are business partners as well, having launched the fashion line Material Girl together.

Madonna went on to assure viewers that the cigarette seen in her own most recent video was only a prop and she does not smoke.

Madonna said her non-superstar life is mostly normal - she's a single mom of four kids with challenging names to spell and she asks the typical parenting questions “Have you done your homework?” and “Why are you wearing that?”

But, seriously, what are you trying to walk out of the house in that Madonna asks you to change out of?
