Madonna Supports Malala But Still Has Guns In Her Concert?

Madonna makes very little sense to me right now. She's throwing guns around in her MDNA tour when she’s been super anti-violence and supportive of injured Pakistani girl Malala.

The two things just don’t add up.

Madonna refuses to remove the “gun portion” of her concert despite backlash from nearly everyone, but at her LA tour stop last week she gave a speech on why it was “sick” that a 14-year-old girl was shot twice in the head!

What!? How!? Madonna, if you truly support Malala you’d stop waving guns around in your shows. It’s like telling America that is has an obesity problem while eating a piece of cake.

Madonna’s rep told the AP that taking the guns out of Madonna’s tour was “like taking out the third act of Hamlet. Madonna does not make things pretty and tie them up with a bow.”

First of all, can we talk about how Madonna's concert is being compared to Shakespeare? Like, that in itself is offensive enough.

This is Madonna’s reasoning for why it’s super important to have guns on stage, “I do not condone violence or the use of guns. Rather they are symbols of wanting to appear strong and wanting to find a way to stop feelings that I find hurtful or damaging.”

I’m not even sure what any of that meant.

Also, just to put things in perspective, Madonna waved guns onstage just days after the Aurora, Colorado shooting as well. Yeah, “too soon” doesn’t even begin to describe it.

Madonna, you better find a different way to “appear strong” because the gun schtick is super tacky.
