Madonna's adoption of Mercy James was denied, doesn't mean she's going to stop caring for the child.
Madge has hired a nanny and a nurse in Malawi to look after three-year-old Mercy James until her lawyers try to work out the details surround her adoption.
Madonna's request for adoption was rejected by a court in the capital Lilongwe earlier this month, but her lawyers were quick to file an appeal.
Mercy was sent back to the Kondanai Children's Home after Madonna left the country without her, but she still wanted to make sure she was well taken care of.
Orphanage director Anne Chikhwaza says, "As Mercy's legal guardian, I authorize where she goes. She is staying with Madonna's people as a visitor. There is nothing wrong with that."
Madonna's appeal on the adoption bid is set to be heard in an African court on May 4, 2009. What are your thoughts on the situation? Do you think Madonna should be granted the adoption?
