Madonna Arrives in Malawi for Charity Tour

Madonna is one busy mama. She just arrived in Malawi for her charity tour, accompanied by her biological children, Lourdes, 13 and Rocco, nine, as well as her adopted children, David Banda and Mercy, both four, who are both from Malawi.

Madge is in the country to oversee several projects, one of which being laying the first brick of her $15 million dollar all girl school, Raising Malawi Academy for Girls.

The all girl school is scheduled to be opened in 2011, so Madge wants to make sure everything is going according to plan, and that her children understand how important this project is.

A source said: “She sees it as vital they understand their roots. Mercy’s meeting with her family will be particularly emotional as it’s the first time she’s see them since last summer.

“They will proudly show off their dance moves and meet their families.”
Today Madonna is scheduled to visit a poverty alleviation project in a village in the country’s Mchinji district, where she adopted David, and tomorrow she will visit the academy again.
