So much for a peaceful Christmas. Although
Guy Ritchie and
Madonna agreed to spend the holiday in the U.K. with their kids, Guy has reportedly banned his ex wife from staying at the country mansion they used to share.
Maybe Guy heard about the rumors that Madonna had invited her rumored lover
Alex Rodriguez to the country with her? Maybe he's enjoying his freedom too much to let his controlling ex-wife back in the picture?
Whatever the reason is, Guy has made it clear that she won't be staying with him and the kids, Lourdes, 12, Rocco, eight, and David, three at their Ashcombe House in Wiltshire.
A source close to the couple told the
UK Sun: “Guy is desperate to see the children on Christmas Day and was OK with them all spending the day at Ashcombe. But having her stay over was just too much.
“He couldn't bear the thought of her padding round the kitchen next morning like old times — there are too many sad memories.”
The source added, “It seems they were a bit over optimistic to think they could call a truce."
Will Madonna and Guy put their differences aside and have a civilized Christmas? Only time will tell. If there's anything we've learned from their marriage, it's that Madonna is not big on compromise. We feel bad for her kids, hope they're getting a lot of toys to distract them from the fact that Mommy and Daddy can't stand each other anymore.
