Father of Mercy James Wants Madonna to Back Off!

Things are not looking good for Madonna and the adoption of Mercy James. First, she was denied adopting little Mercy James and now a man claiming to be Mercy's biological dad is trying to stop Madonna from taking his daughter out of Malawi.

"I want to take care of her, and I'm capable of taking care of my baby," Mercy's father told CBS's The Early Show in an interview which is set to air Monday.

"Mercy, she is a Malawian, so [I] need her to grow as a Malawian ... with our culture," he added.

Monday is a big day for Madge. Her case will be heard in court and the judges that rejected the adoption the first time around will give the case another listen.

Note that Madonna is not trying to go to Malawi and take kids away from their families. This man that is alleging to be the dad has never in fact met his daughter and he claims that he has only seen her "in newspapers and TV, not face to face."

Mercy has been in an orphanage all her life because her mother had died at a very young age. Madge met Mercy back in 2006 when she was in Malawi adopting David Banda.

Do you guys think Madonna should be able to adopt Mercy James?

There are more kids in sore need of love around the world. It is not worthy a sort of competition. Lady Madonna, adopt another child and no more burdens. Someday your both kids will bring their own families to you. It is just a question of time and patience. Good Luck and Keeep Smiling!

It depends on how the story goes. If this is some guy who has intentionally been out of his daughter's life for years and is now just wanting her back as a kind of power trip, I'd be for Madonna hands down. If he were somebody who had just discovered that he had a daughter, I would be more for him. If the child has already bonded with Madonna, however, it would be too traumatic at this time to change the parenthood. It would be like that movie, Losing Isaiah, or the even older Hollywood classic called To Each His Own.

Yea, I think she should be able to adopt him because she will be able to take good care of Mercy as she grows up. And she will have a Malawian brother, she'll feel like she is really at home.
