Like we had previously reported, Madonna's adoption case is far from being formalized and the Malawi high court was relying on testimony from a rep to determine next years hearing.
However, according to a newspaper report in Malawi, the child welfare expert, Kilembe, who has been overseeing the case, has now been banned from making the final investigation. Malawian officials claim they have selected another representative to conduct the assessment.
A minister said: "We have already contacted Madonna to inform her that someone else and not Kilembe will come to asses her, because we feel Mr. Kilembe personalized the whole issue."
Malawi's Minister of Women and Child Development, Kate Kainja, stepped in and took control after she found out that Kilembe had obtained an air ticket to London and money from Madonna, without approval from the government. He has been accused of "personalizing" the matter and risking his neutrality.
Kilembe denied he obtained money from Madonna and claims canceling the visit could threaten Madonna's chances of keeping David, saying: "What this means is that the whole adoption process may crumble and David could be sent back to his village."
David has already been living with Madonna since he left Malawi last October. I don't know why they were so quick to give baby Banda to Madonna if they were going to create so much drama around the situation afterward--that's so Hollywood, not Malawi.
