Mad Men Ending in Two Seasons

The fourth season of Mad Men has an official start date! AMC announced today that the next season will kick off on July 25th. We’re relieved because we don’t know how much longer we can wonder about that crazy cliff hanger at the end of last season.

But the question remains….Just how long will/can Mad Men go on? According to the Hollywood Reporter, creator Matt Weiner suggested in an interview that the show would end after six seasons. He said “In the life of the series, if it continues, I would like to cover this period of people’s lives — and that’s a 5-year plan and not a 10-year plan.”

When asked, an AMC spokesperson said, “No one wants to see Don Draper wearing a leisure suit. We trust Matthew’s vision and that he knows where to take the show. But with that said, M*A*S*H figured how to stretch the Korean War for more than a decade, so stay tuned!”

We’ll take Don in a leisure suit any day. We know where we’ll be at exactly 10PM on July 25th!
