Lisa Marie Presley Defends The Travoltas and Scientology

Lisa Marie Presley has been staying out of the public eye as of late, but has decided to come out in the open about a topic close to he heart, which is Scientology.

She took to her Myspace Celebrity blog to unleash her feelings about how the world views the religion, which she is a believer in.

She also took time to acknowledge John Travolta and his family, with whom Lisa said she is very close with, and sympathized with them at this difficult time. Here’s part of her blog entry.

On John and Kelly losing their son Jett:
“My heart is crying and bleeding for them. I personally would not have it in me to bury my own child. I am writing this because I have noticed that for the most part, people and the media have been very sympathetic and respectful, but there are those certain ones that want to use this horrible tragedy as an opportunity to once again, blame and or attack Scientology?”

On the way Scientology is viewed:
“Folks, as popular as it has been to discriminate and ridicule Scientology and Scientologist’s in the recent past , Now is NOT the time. I realize that there is a lot of mis information out there about the subject which has caused a lot of stone throwing but we are not still in the dark ages and it is still an Unconstitutional Injustice to partake in and encourage such condemnation.”

Lisa did end things on a good note, though, and briefly mentioned her own children, twins Harper and Finley, who were born in October.

She says, “PS, I am so sorry it has been such a long time since I have written. I have just been soaking up the love and the happiness that these two little babies have brought us. More on that soon…….:) Thank you so much for all of your well wishes. I love and miss you very much. I’ll be in touch.”

We agree with Lisa Marie that this is definitely not the time to be bashing Scientology or bringing the Travoltas into it. They have enough to deal with right now. For Lisa’s full blog entry, click here.

I know the religion is faith in something you want believed and it you can not verify with objects but you want believed on it, and you try to demonstrate with examples as your own live. The religion has done the man to live in an orderly manner.

I agree that this is a tragic time to bring Scientology into the mix. But let this be a reminder that if what we know about Scientology is true (that they don't believe in mental disorders, certain medical beliefs, etc.), I hope that we can all see the effects of denying our children what is best for their health. I don't wish death on anyone's child. I can't imagine how they must be feeling right now. I hope they have looked to God for hope.

So, I am not getting it I guess.. he didn't take his medicine because scietology thought he would do better with a tee or soup or what it was. Is that so ? You man, doctors do just research and study..So they killed their son and they are sad now .. Is that so ??

For John Travolta & Family I will lend you, for a little while, a child of mine, God said. For you to love him while he lives and mourn for when he's dead. It may be six or seven years, or maybe two or three, but will you, 'till I call him back, take care of him for me. He'll bring his charms to gladden you and (should his stay be brief), you'll always have his memories as solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return, but there are lessons taught below I want this child to learn. I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true, and from the folk that crowd life's land, I have chosen you. Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain, nor hate me when I come to take this child back again. I fancied that I heard them say "Dear Lord Thy Will be Done", for all the joys this child will bring, the risk of grief we'll run. We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may, and for the happiness we've known forever grateful stay. But should you call him back much sooner than we've planned, We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand If, by our love, we've managed, your wishes to achieve, Our memory of him, his love, will help us while we grieve, Author Unknown My deepest sympathies during this difficult time.
