Why the Judge Denied Lindsay's Bail

We’re shocked that Lindsay Lohan was actually taken into custody this morning and not permitted to go free as expected. But according to TMZ, Lindsay’s lawyers didn’t even get the chance to argue for their client—the judge simply had Lilo handcuffed right there on the spot!

This was not the expected outcome, since the underlying offense is a misdemeanor, and people connected with the case were saying the judge had to offer Lindsay bail.

Guess Judge Fox found a way to put her back where she belongs—behind bars. Lindsay is currently in custody, and we have yet to see her, Dina Lohan or Michael Lohan exit the courthouse.

Cameramen were heard outside the courthouse this morning saying they were heading to Lynnwood next. That's where the women's correctional facility is located, and where Lindsay did her most recent stint in jail. Its likely that's where she's going back to.

When it comes down to brass tacks, Lindsay did fail two drug tests—one for cocaine and one for Adderall—so we think the judge made the right decision in having her sent back to jail.

Let’s hope she does stay put this time for the allotted time. Stay tuned for more information to come...

UPDATE: According to KTLA, Lindsay won't be released from jail early due to overcrowding which is a very common issue in LA jails.

Michael Lohan held a press conference outside of the court house in which he blamed Lindsay’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley and her mother Dina Lohan for ruining Lindsay.

He says Lindsay belongs in rehab—not jail. “I truly believe she’s finally in a place where she wants to be,” Michael said.

“Jail is not good for anyone. I’ve been there.”

“She doesn’t make the right decisions. She doesn’t know better,” Michael said of his daughter.

Lohan also brought along a pastor who screamed at the press that Lindsay and Dina need to find God. What a circus!
