The Lindsay Lohan documentary series brought to you by Oprah Winfrey that has fans on the edge of their seats waiting in anticipation? For a second there it almost didn’t see the light of day. Oprah was thisclose to pulling the plug on the whole thing because of Lindsay’s lackluster enthusiasm initially.
After Oprah heard concerns from crew and producers that Lindsay wasn’t taking the eight-part doc seriously, she had a one-on-one with the actress to either put it all back on track—or take it off the rails entirely.
“There was a lot of chaos going on,” Oprah told "Access Hollywood." “So I went to have a conversation, a real conversation about that, to say to [Lindsay], ‘Do you want to do it? Because if you don’t want to do it, that’s okay. We could just end it. We don’t have to do it.”
“I went to her house just to say, ‘What are you doing? Let’s get real here.’ And…'This is what’s conflicting about it.’ Because it’s television and we stand to gain if it does well. I said, ‘If I get here and Lindsay isn’t serious, I will shut this thing down today.’”
Oprah’s network OWN is investing a lot in chronicling Lindsay’s road to sobriety. They’ve inked a contract that pays the starlet $2 million to open up her life to the cameras.
That’s when Lindsay reassured Oprah. “She said she wants to do it. So let’s get to it.”
