The path to recovery hasn’t been a struggle for just Lindsay Lohan, but for her parents Michael and Dina Lohan as well.
Lindsay’s parents first separated when she was three years old, reconciled, then split again in 2005. After two years of divorce proceedings, the couple made their separation official in 2007.
In a moment of clarity, Michael places all the blame regarding Lindsay’s trouble on he and Dina alone.
“I don’t think [Lindsay] should have taken any of the blame for what happened to her,” Michael told Life & Style magazine. “It’s my fault and Dina’s fault. We put her in the middle of the divorce. Now it’s up to me and Dina to make this better.”
Michael and Dina have had problems of their own, independent of Lindsay’s, though similar. Michael, for instance, has battled drug addiction for years, been in prison and completed multiple rehab stints.
However, life has improved since Lindsay’s rehab commenced this past July.
“The healing in our family has really helped a lot,” Michael added. “We really came together in helping her.”
