Apparently, Lindsay wasn't the first choice for the lead in The Other Side. Director David Michaels says he intended for Katie to play the role of Max MacKenzie.
He tells E!, "Katie would call me from Berlin at 4 a.m. her time to go over ideas and notes. We did this over successive weeks while she was there with Tom when he was filming Valkyrie. The result of our collaboration has tremendously improved the arc and dynamic of the lead character."
But after all of that work, Katie decided to pull out of the role when there wasn’t enough funding for the film. She opted to do All My Sons on Broadway instead.
Director Michaels added, "At the end of the day, it's really all about delivering something remarkable that translates to the big screen, so the real work for us is still ahead."
We don’t understand that transition at all! Katie Holmes may not be the best actress in the world, but she’s in a different league than Lindsay. She’ll really need to step up her game for this film to get back on track! Think she can do it?
