Lindsay Lohan: I Was Too Busy to Return Stolen Necklace

Lindsay Lohan has a new excuse for why she stole didn't return the $2,500 'borrowed' necklace that got her a felony grand theft charge--because she was "too busy."

Her latest 'I didn't do it' excuse is that she tried to return the necklace back to the store, but she was just soooooo busy she didn't have time. Busy doing what exactly? You're employed sweetie, that excuse only works with working actors.

According to a police report, Lindsay's assistant said: "Ms. Lohan was in possession of the necklace and wanted to give the necklace back to the store the day after she took it from the store, but she was very busy."

Now her lawyer Shawn Holley is trying to fight the felony charges claiming the necklace isn't worth what the store was selling it for.

Shawn said: "We intend to challenge the prosecution's case because the truth is, Ms. Lohan didn't steal anything. But even if she had, it seems to me that the appropriate charge, based on the fair market value of the goods, should have been petty theft and not grand theft. A $5 lump of coal with a $2,500 price tag is still a $5 lump of coal."

Shawn is the real star of this circus. Someone give this woman a reality show! Can you imagine having to deal with Lindsay's legal troubles?
