Remember when Lindsay Lohan was raging in a NYC club and, for no reason at all, sucker-punched that psychic lady in the head—allegedly? Well, today she was SUPPOSED to go to court for it.
But the “Liz & Dick” diva did not appear before a judge in criminal court today as scheduled, mainly, because she didn’t show up.
Unlike her appearance in the Lifetime opus, the no-show move did little to further taint her public image. According to TMZ, prosecutors announced, “the investigation into this case is continuing.”
The main purpose of today’s hearing was for the judge to be informed whether or not the punch victim, Tiffany Mitchell, planned to pursue the assault case. Which now appears to be along the lines of: “T.B.D.”
As we previously reported, Lindsay was charged with a third misdemeanor on November 29th. The alleged incident reportedly went down in the Avenue Lounge in Manhattan’s Chelsea District. According to Mitchell’s husband, her face was “aggravated” and “all swollen” the next day.
Based on the comments that her lawyer, Mark Heller, gave to CNN, Lindsay is hardly concerned about any damage this legal dispute could pose,
“Once again, Lindsay Lohan is a victim of someone trying to capture their 15 minutes of fame,” said Heller.
“From my initial investigation,” Heller added, “I am completely confident that this case will be concluded favorably and that Lindsay will be totally exonerated.”
Meanwhile, there’s no word yet on whether Lindz is even back stateside, following her London New Year’s Eve romp.
