Lindsay Lohan can breathe a small sigh of relief. Judge Marsha Revel, who has been on Lindsay’s case since the beginning, has been let go.
According to TMZ, Revel actually removed herself from the case after allegations that she contacted people involved with the case, which is not permitted. According to the report, lawyers in the case had a conference call with Revel last Friday afternoon, and complained that the judge had contacted "participants and experts" in the case without notifying the the lawyers in advance.
Judge Revel apparently contacted people at the Morningside Recovery rehab facility and then selected Morningside for Lindsay, even though it was not on the list of recommended facilities by her own court-appointed experts. Ultimately, Lindsay's lawyer convinced Judge Revel to send her to UCLA.
Here’s what we find surprising about it all—the prosecutor Danette Meyers was the one who raised the objection with Judge Revel! Revel reportedly voluntarily took herself before Meyers filed legal papers to have her removed. The new judge on the case is Judge Elden Fox. And this whole time we thought Meyers and Revel were BFF!
Let’s hope the new judge is still going to keep Lilo in rehab the whole time!
