With The Canyons premiering all over the country, we’d like to say that this post about Lindsay Lohan is just about the movie and not at all about her drug use except WE DON’T WANT TO BE GOSSIPY LIARS. No, this post is still about her drug use.
Except we didn’t bring it up! That was the doing of her director Paul Schrader who gave a fairly fascinating quote about Lindsay’s contentious on-set behavior. Think of it as a behind-the-scenes look at the behind-the-scenes exposé on the making of the film.
In an interview with Vulture, when asked how he thinks Lindsay could stage a comeback, he got specific. Real specific.
“Stop the Adderall. I mean, that’s f*cking speed, and she was taking it every day. And then when she gets too speedy, you have to cut it with some vodka. Great. That’s what we call a speedball,” he said, adding…
“She’s not a drug addict in a conventional sense, I just think that with Adderall…well, I’ve been talking to people about it, and apparently it’s the most abused drug on college campuses by women.”
Adderall isn’t illegal, of course, but what he’s insinuating is that she was dealing with some issues that caused a particularly fraught state of mind. Who knows what else she may have been using to cope behind closed doors?
The latest on Lindsay’s rehab sentence is that she’s recovering well and wants to stay in voluntarily for an extended period of time.
