Lil Wayne is looking for a plea deal! The rapper pleaded guilty today to second-degree weapons possession charges. This is a change from his original not-guilty plea, which means he’s hoping for a deal in his favor.
Lil Wayne may still have to face up to a year in jail for being in illegal possession of a gun back in 2007. New York City police found a .40-caliber handgun on his tour bus, and DNA evidence reportedly linked him to the weapon.
Seems like Weezy made the right choice in cutting a deal. If he'd been found guilty by a jury, he could have faced up to three-and-a-half years in prison.
And there’s still more legal drama ahead for him. Lil Wayne is also set to go on trial for felony drug possession and weapon possession in Arizona after an incident in which marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy and a handgun were allegedly found on his tour bus.
