Why Liam Hemsworth is Terrified of Sex Scenes

Liam Hemsworth. 6’ 3”. Australian. Stars in The Hunger Games. If you think he fears nothing, then you’d be wrong.

The actor recently shot a film—a spy thriller called Paranoid—opposite Amber Heard and found filming certain scenes in particular to be very intimidating. Sex scenes, to be extra specific.

“Intimate scenes are always pretty scary,” he confessed to "Entertainment Tonight." “Being intimate with someone in front of a lot of people, it’s hard to let go and be free in the scene.”

Though in Amber’s experience, Liam had nothing to worry about, finding the scenes to be "extremely easy."

“I think the key to doing scenes of a romantic nature, doing them comfortably, is to be friends with the person you're working with,” Amber said to "ET." “If they make you comfortable and if you're comfortable being around them, you'll laugh through it and have a good time.”

"It's not awkward if you're buddies with the person you're working with. Fortunately Liam, being the person he is, made it extremely easy to do [the scenes]."

To help Liam and break the tension, they even played a prank on him before filming. We’ll let him retell the story: "I get into the bed and they say, 'Action'. Then, I turn over and I grab what I thought was Amber's arm and it was a giant [sex toy]. It was big ... a black one. I pulled it out and everyone was in on [the joke] except me."
