Don’t shed any tears for Liam Hemsworth. You won’t find him blasting Celine Dion’s “All By Myself” while ingesting Ralph’s entire inventory of Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food. He’s just fine with being single and enjoying life.
“These days I feel like I’m more centered and grounded than I’ve ever been,” Liam told The Associated Press.
It’s been about two months since the actor confirmed his breakup with Miley Cyrus, which has given him some time to reflect on how much his life has changed since leaving Australia to pursue acting five years ago.
“I’ve learned so much,” he admitted. “The first few years in L.A. were really tough and scary, but I had to figure things out for myself.”
Referring to all the media reports obsessed with his relationship to the former Disney star, Liam’s learned how to deal with all the insane attention: “What I always keep in mind is that I know what the truth is and that’s all that matters. I know I’m a good person.”
To balance it all out, he credits focusing on his projects, athletic activities such as surfing and kickboxing, and being around positive co-stars and friends like Jennifer Lawrence.
“For a few years I went down a path where I forgot to be in the moment and enjoy the moment,” Liam said. “But being around someone like Jen, who is so honest and laughs all day long, I am forced to be in the right now. I’m much happier.”
