Leonardo DiCaprio was involved in a very scary incident on a flight over the weekend.
According to Us Magazine, Leo was one of the passengers on a Delta flight from JFK to Moscow when one of the engines shut down.
Talk about scary! The pilots were forced to turn the plane around and make an emergency landing back in New York. Leo said in a statement through his rep that he "wishes to commend the actions of the pilot and flight crew in bringing the plane to a safe landing.”
"Leo signed autographs for all the crew members when they landed,” said a source involved with the situation.
So my question is, what was Leo doing flying to Moscow? Apparently he was heading to the Tiger Summit in St. Petersburg to discuss ways to prevent the extinction of tigers, headed by Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
I should have known—Leo has become more famous lately for his humanitarian work than his acting roles! But speaking of, it was announced today that Leo will produce and star in a movie about the JFK assassination. Like we need another movie about that topic. But I suppose if someone can do it right, it’s Leo.
He’ll play FBI informant Jack Van Laningham in the film.
I’m glad Leo is safe and sound! Plane crashes are one of my biggest fears!
