Leah Remini, one of the Church of Scientology’s more familiar faces, has up and left the religion.
Along with Tom Cruise and John Travolta, Leah was one of its most famous followers, but surprisingly decided to leave the church after over nearly 15 years as a member.
Leah and the church have remained quiet over their falling out, though a source apparently close to the story told the New York Post it’s because she disagreed with policies that don’t allow parishioners to question church leader David Miscavige’s management.
She’s also against the practice that followers must remain out of contact with family members that the church unilaterally decides are “suppressive” persons.
In the wake of the news, Leah has released a statement to People:
"I wish to share my sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming positive response I have received from the media, my colleagues, and from fans around the world. I am truly grateful and thankful for all your support.”
