Lea Michele revealed in the December issue of Elle that she’s recorded a song dedicated to the late Cory Monteith for her debut album.
Originally, the track—titled “You’re Mine”—wasn’t even on the album, only to be included at the final moment.
“The album was done, and the label said, ‘Do you want to add anything?’ I was like, ‘I might regret it if I don’t,’” Lea shared with the magazine. “It makes me so happy, this song. It makes me think so much of Cory.”
“It was ours,” she continued. “When I think of him, I play this.”
The special track goes along with another song, “If You Say So,” that Lea wrote in Cory’s memory. Writing and recording it was just one of the ways the actress has been coping with Cory’s shocking death.
Lea enlisted the help of “Titanium” singer-songwriter Sia to help her express her feelings.
Making it even more personal, Lea revealed that the song’s title, “If You Say So,” which is also the phrase of the latest tattoo on her ribcage, was Cory’s last words to the actress.
