Lane Garrison got a warm welcoming by Jessica Simpson and her family on Wednesday after serving a jail sentence stemming from a DUI back in 2006.

Garrison was greeted by friends and family as he left California Correctional Institute in Tehachapi in the early hours on Wednesday, and reunited with more pals at a special afternoon bash held at Joe and Tina Simpson's Encino, CA, reports Eonline.com.

In regards to his release, Lane said, "I'm blessed to be alive. I'm just worried about getting through treatment right now. I'm looking forward to getting on with my life and doing the right thing and helping people."

Jess was there to welcome him back home, but her sister Ashlee Simpson was a no show.

After the small gathering, Lane headed to a Tarzana Treatment Center, where he is set to attend rehab for the next five months.

He was originally set to serve 40 months in prison for a drunk driving incident in December 2006, which left a 17-year-old passenger dead, but he was released early due to good behavior.
Lane Garrison was released from prison early Wednesday morning. He was originally sentenced to 40-months in jail after pleading guilty to vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence and two other alcohol-related charges.

"He's done his time and now he's looking forward to trying to move on with his life," a source close to Garrison said.

Garrison will now have to check himself into rehab in order to be able to shorten his probation time period.

If you guys recall, Garrison was involved in a car crash that killed 17-year-old Vahagn Setian and injured a 15-year-old girl. He was drunk and had cocaine in his system.

Lets just hope he has learned his lesson and he won't hit the Hollywood party scene any time soon.

Former Prison Break star Lane Garrison will be getting out of prison a lot earlier than expected.

He’s been in jail since November of 2007, after being found guilty of vehicular manslaughter when he got into a drunk driving accident and his 17-year old passenger Vahagn Setian was killed.

He was expected to serve a 40-month sentence, but according to a spokesman for the California Department of Corrections, he’ll be paroled within the next few weeks because of good behavior credits.

Similar prisoners in Lane’s position are usually released into community residential facilities and assigned to a parole officer somewhere in the state.

For safety reasons, the corrections department does not disclose inmate release dates or the location of the residential facilities they are assigned to in a community.

Obviously if Garrison is released, it will be a lot earlier than was expected of his original sentencing; however, he has been proving himself in prison, working as a peer mentor for other inmates.

Do you think he deserves to get out this early on parole? Or should he have to serve his entire 40-month sentence?

Prison Break star Lane Garrison may be getting out of jail early.  He was arrested and sentenced last year for drunk driving and killing a teenage boy, Vahagn Setian.

He's now serving time in a minimum security prison in California, after being transferred three different times. Lane's reason for getting out early is due to good behavior.

Yeah, but he's still responsible for killing a teenager! Don't think one year in jail is going to make that kid's family very happy.
