Lance Armstrong has finally spoken out about the reason him and
Sheryl Crow decided to call it quits. He blames her biological time clock for their breakup three years ago.
In a book titled,
Lance, the biker tells author John Wilcockson that after the two got engaged their relationship went downhill.
They got engaged right before Crow's 44th birthday and he claims that she felt like it was time for it all: marriage, babies and the whole package, which clearly freaked Armstrong out.
"She wanted marriage, she wanted children; and not that I didn't want that, but I didn't want that at that time because I had just gotten out of a marriage, I'd just had kids [Luke, Grace and Bella]," Armstrong, says. "Yet we're up against her biological clock -- that pressure is what cracked it."
According to
Page Six, Lance and Sheryl attempted to go to a relationship counselor to figure it out, "but really there's no way to counsel that situation.
"Because if somebody wants a child -- man, that's the greatest gift you can give to a woman -- so who are you to stand there and say I don't want one. So we were at different points in our lives. We were not compatible on that issue."
Crow didn't wait for a man to give her a baby. She took matters into her own hands and adopted a beautiful two-week-old boy back in May 2007.
Armstrong went on to date a few more famous gals in Hollywood, but slowed down after his girlfriend Anna Hansen announced she was pregnant. Their baby is due next month.
Guess it was all just bad timing!
