Going Gaga for Assange, Pop Star Chills with WikiLeaks Founder in London

Lady Gaga has friends in high and low places. Where Julian Assange fits in that continuum is probably up to your own personal political persuasion and thoughts on those rape charges he’s denying…

The 26-year-old entertainer was in Harrods promoting her new perfume line Fame in London this week, a vaporous trail of which eventually led her to visit apparent new BFF the WikiLeaks founder at the Ecuadorian Embassy.

Gaga posted a color photo of herself with Julian to her official website, though it might as well have been in black and white: Gaga’s dressed in head-to-slack black with dark wavy tresses and a bewitching hat (her broomstick is out of view); Julian in a plain white tee with his signature snowy crew cut hair (the Swedish meatballs from Ikea that stained his shirt also out of view).

Reportedly, the two shared a meal together, with Gaga finally leaving Julian’s abode sometime after midnight, five hours upon first hitching up there.

Julian’s been living in something of a Tom Clancy novel these days. The citizen info-hacktivist has been seeking asylum at an Ecuadorian embassy in London (not far from the Harrods locale where Gaga was summoned in the Knightsbridge district) after being charged for rape in instances going back to 2010.

Julian vehemently denies said charges, claiming that it’s all a global effort of men on high who’ve been tiffed by his whistle-blowing with the WikiLeaks site.

As far as Gaga is concerned, how the odd couple became friends, what they talked about, or how they even first met is intel that only someone like Julian could unearth, ironically. Really, who knows? Maybe they’re filming a new film called “The Girl with the Dragaga Tattoo.”
