Kristin Chenoweth, the best Glinda ever and one of the star’s of CBS’ “The Good Wife,” will not be returning to the show after she was struck in the head last month by a piece of lighting equipment on set. As Kristin said in a statement:
“It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to The Good Wife at this time. Getting better slowly and thank you everyone for your concern.”
Kristin was injured when a piece of a lighting equipment was blown down by a freak gust of wind on the show’s Brooklyn set in July. She was taken off set on a stretcher and in a neck brace.
The actress has confirmed that she will appear in the premiere episode, airing September 30, and that she may return in the future but that right now she needs more time to heal.
Chenoweth was set for a recurring role on the Emmy winning drama as a political reporter who would dig in to Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Peter’s (Chris Noth) marriage and Peter’s re-election campaign. Also guesting on season 4 is Maura Tierney as an ‘Internet billionaire,’ Nathan Lane as a financially obsessed bank imposed manager for Lockhart & Gardner, Dominic Chianese will play a “veteran judge with an uncanny knowledge of computer programming” (strangest character description ever), and Marc Warren as the crazy estranged husband of Kalinda, Alicia’s firm’s private investigator.
I wonder how they’ll write Chenoweth’s character out in episode two—maybe they’ll do it like they got rid of Avery Jessup on 30 Rock and send her to North Korea?
