Kristen Wiig on SNL: Everyone Has to Leave
Last week there were rumors that Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis would be leaving SNL at the end of this season and now Kristen Wiig is basically confirming it.

After her nearly perfect impression of Drew Barrymore this weekend on SNL, I can’t even imagine the show without her! Well, we could do without the Gilly sketch, but STILL!

Kristen Wiig talked to Alec Baldwin on his “Here’s the Thing” podcast (Did you know Alec Baldwin had a podcast? That guy…) and told him about her plans to leave the show.

“Well, everyone has to leave,” she told Baldwin.

She only confirmed that her contract is up this year, but didn’t divulge whether her contract was renewed, “I will say that when I do leave it’s not because I’m sick of it and not because I see something better or anything like that.”

What she’s saying is, she’s not leaving to do a hypothetical “Bridesmaids 2: The Honeymoon in 3D” or something. Also, let’s make THAT movie. Judd Apatow…can we make that happen?

“It’s just that it’s time,” says Wiig, “When I do leave, it will be the hardest thing…you’re there for a week and on Saturday night you’re sad because you leave these people.”

Kristen gives this quote that is hard to interpret as anything other than a heartfelt goodbye, “You have to leave things that you love.”

“This is my seventh year and that’s my family,” says Wiig, “It’s my heart. It’s New York to me.”
