The hype for Lionsgate’s Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is mind blowing… In fact, I think there are already people standing in ticket lines for the November release.
One of the mighty, mighty features in the latest of the chick flick franchise is the new development in Kristen Stewart’s character Bella. If you’re familiar with the books/films/clothing lines, then you already know she becomes a vampire. If you’re not, then I’m totally sorry for just ruining that one for you…
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kristen explained her take on the centuries old vampire persona. For her, it was a matter of combining all the previous interpretations into one super pot of powerful vampire gumbo.
“I knew every single version of vampire, and I took a little bit from everyone,” said Stewart. “But I wanted her to be the best.”
The actress went on to describe what it was like as a bloodsucker in a scene where she hunts down a mountain lion, tackling a fake, foam-shaped lion on set. The primal act really pulled her into character.
“I ripped that mother to the ground!” she joked. “For the first time I was like, ‘Wow, I’m, like, really playing a vampire now.”
It wasn’t all fun and games, though. Kristen’s beau Rob Pattinson, explained her process as an outsider looking in. According to the actor, Kristen playing Bella the raging vampire turned real life Kristen into a raging, well… b*tch.
“Kristen complained about 500 times more than I have,” she said. ““She condensed four years of complaining into a few months.”
But all of Rob’s pain and suffering was for a profit. With shooting wrapped, co-star Taylor Lautner assures us that Kristen has a quality performance in the can that we’re not going to want to miss.
"Kristen did so well suddenly becoming this super-sexy vampire who’s athletic and graceful,” Lautner said. “She took it very seriously and pulls it off.”
