Since Twi-gate began (i.e. the Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson cheating scandal), Twihards around the world have been sobbing into video blogs because they can’t believe that actors aren’t the same as the characters they play in movies.
Rational people have got it figured out, but some “Twilight” obsessed dummies are all like “I can’t believe Bella cheated on Edward, he waited 110 years for her! Wahhhh! Who’s getting custody of their mutant child!”
Anyways, Twilight director Bill Condon has finally spoken out about the scandal, which is strange behavior for a director to involve himself in the personal lives of his actors, but basically, he’s saying, listen up: K-Stew and R-Patz are NOT Bella and Edward!
“The fact is, these are actors playing parts, and maybe it’s not such a bad thing that people be reminded of that,” Bill Condon tells Entertainment Weekly.
“Both of these actors gave heart and soul to the Twilight movies, not only during shooting, but also by navigating so graciously the whole life-in-a-fishbowl aspect of the phenomenon. Above all they have always shown great respect for the fans who made these movies such a success. Now it’s time that some of that respect be returned to them,” says the director.
Preach it Bill Condon.
While Mr. Condon is trying to tell Twilight fans to stop being idiots, the less famous couple involved in the scandal - Rupert Sanders and his scorned wife Liberty Ross - had their first face-to-face meeting yesterday and it wasn’t pretty.
The couple met up outside an office building in Beverly Hills (possibly a lawyers office) accompanied by an older gentleman in a suit. Liberty left immediately after the meeting and was spotted getting lunch with an attractive guy at Cecconi’s in West Hollywood where she was definitely getting her flirt on.
Rupert was left to get a sandwich to-go from a Jewish deli while he sat on the curb and ate alone. Wah-wah.
