Kristen Stewart, in case you didn’t already know, is a Hollywood heavy-hitter.
The Twilight actress has been dubbed a “Box-Office Queen” alongside such esteemed company as Jennifer Lawrence and Meryl Streep. Kristen has been honored on The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment 2012: Power 100 list.
Sifting through a long list of powerhouse studio exec women, we find KStew’s name at number 50 on the list along with the other two actresses.
Kristen is credited as helping change the box office playing field, rivaling its fanboy presence by giving female audiences what they were craving.
According to the report, the Twilight five-piece film franchise has grossed a worldwide total of $3.1 billion.
Along with the Twilight final installment Breaking Dawn – Part 2, Kristen had two other blockbusters Snow White and the Huntsman ($400.3 million worldwide gross) and On the Road (scheduled for a December 21 release) grace the silver screen this year.
Jennifer Lawrence shares the No. 50 spot. The 22-year-old actress isn’t slowing down since her Oscar nomination for 2010’s Winter’s Bone with her debut as Katniss Everdeen in mega-success The Hunger Games and the sure-to-be-award-nominated Silver Linings Playbook as proof.
Oscar-winning actress and goddess of all things “Hollywood” Meryl Streep rounds off the big three. No arguing that she’s earned the honor, but fun fact that THR included: 51 of Streep’s films have earned over $3.67 billion worldwide. (You’re welcome, world!)
Number one on the list, because I know you're dying to find out, is Anne Sweeney, co-chairman, Disney Media Networks and president, Disney/ABC Television.
In the list’s accompanying article, Sweeney credits her drive and passion for the entertainment industry for her dominating supremacy.
“I really moved through my career based on curiosity about something,” she said. "I never looked at a title and said, 'I want that.”
The Women in Entertainment 2012: Power 100 list appears in the December 14 issue of THR.
