Stewart. Kristen Stewart.
Hollywood’s 'It Vampire' of the moment is kissing her role of Twilight’s Bella Swan goodbye this weekend, but what about kissing James Bond hello?
On the black carpet of the Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 premiere in L.A., Kristen was cornered like a rogue spy whose cover was just blown and then interrogated
by Extra on whether or not she’d be interested in being a future Bond girl. This is the part where Agent KStew gets all clandestine, weaving a tapestry of half-answers and mixed messages for the villainous media machine.
“I’m not sure, I would love to read a few graphs of the script. I choose my roles really instinctually,” she answers at first with a coy smile (which is soooo Bond Girl, by the way), playing up the notion she’s giving a typical round-around “Hollywood” answer. “I would really have to connect with the material.”
Then she flashed her eyelashes, thinking she was in the clear, but anyone who’s seen a Bond movie knows you have to keep pushing. Extra has seen a Bond movie.
After they asked her yet again—this time for a real answer—she hedged, slightly. “I don’t know, maybe. I’m not sure, I can’t—I am so non-committal, right?” she asked, rhetorically, an awkward accidental reference to her cheating scandal with married director Rupert Sanders while dating co-star-vampire Rob Pattinson this summer.
Then she did another 180-turn with her answer and said, “As long as I get to have a gun,” adding with a sarcastic smile, “Yes, hell yeah!”
Okay, so her official answer was more like “meh, maybe,” but by giving responses more complicated than the wires of a ticking time bomb, this could have doubled as Kristen’s Bond girl audition.
Just as KStew said on “Good Morning America” last week, reciting the 007 code of conduct verbatim: “Keep ‘em guessing!”
