Well clearly, Kristen Stewart's cheating scandal has only helped her career.
Many were wondering if K-Stew making out with her director was going to help or hurt her career, well, she’s managed to beat out IT girl Jennifer Lawrence to star in the coveted new film Lie Down In Darkness, so clearly, breaking Robert Pattinson’s heart was a great career move.
In the new flick, K-Stew will play the part of Peyton Loftis, who is described as being an “intense physical beauty” and the object of her mother’s jealous hatred and her father’s incestuous alcoholic lust. Yikes!
The film is based on the 1951 novel of the same name and apparently Jennifer Lawrence has been campaigning for the lead role for a while.
“I am obsessed with that part,” Lawrence revealed nearly two years ago to W Magazine, “I have this feeling of protectiveness over characters I want to play. I worry about them—if someone else gets the part, I’m afraid they won’t do it right; they’ll make the character a victim or they’ll make her a villain or they’ll just get it wrong somehow.”
I bet Lawrence is spinning knowing that it’s Kristen Stewart who gets to play her favorite role. These two girls once had a rumored “feud” because they were both starring in high-profile trilogies…it’s safe to say they have a strained relationship and they’ve never even met.
Apparently Lawrence is too busy filming the second Hunger Games movie and the new X-Men movie to do the film.
Meanwhile, it’s unsure if Kristen will appear in the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman.
Back in April, the studio behind the film already hired a screenwriter for the sequel but now with the Rupert Sanders/K-Stew drama, it’s unsure if everything is still a go.
A source at Universal said, “nothing has changed and we are still looking at sequel options that would include Rupert directing.”
It’s interesting how they didn’t mention Kristen’s name…very interesting.
