With the November arrival of Breaking Dawn – Part 2 fast approaching and the drama resulting from Kristen’s Stewart’s alleged cheating scandal still a sizzling topic, fans are wondering how the two will mesh and affect the franchise moving forward.
Hollyscoop caught up with some of the cast at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards to talk about that very issue.
Elizabeth Reaser, who plays Esme Cullen in the film, spoke with Hollyscoop about how the Kristen and Rob drama might affect the final Twilight installment. In the actress’ opinion, devoted fans will show up to theaters with or without real life relationship problems.
“Everything’s going ahead as planned,” said Reaser, asserting that the film’s forward momentum is bigger than Kristen and Rob’s relationship woes.
She added, “It’s really about the movie.”
Jackson Rathbone backed Reaser’s claim, relaying his excitement about the project.
“I think we’re moving forward with getting this film out and we’re really excited,” said Rathbone.
The actor plays Jasper, Kristen’s vampire ally, appearing in all four films.
When asked about the effect of the media’s recent obsession with the KStew cheating schedule, the actor didn’t seem worried.
“I don’t think so,” he said, referencing the bad press hurting the project. “It’s a project that’s always been geared toward the fans. Fans are the ones who really brought Twilight to life … It’s for them!”
Reaser and Rathbone joined Rob Pattinson and the rest of cast – minus Kristen – on stage at the VMAs to present a 90-second never-before-seen clip from the upcoming film.
Meanwhile, Kristen made her grand debut back into the spotlight on Thursday promoting her other new film On the Road at the Toronto International Film Festival.
