On September 11, 2012 the TODAY show made a very serious snafu. At 8:46 a.m., the time when the first plane hit the world trade center 11 years ago – ABC and CBS held moments of silence to memorialize the tragedy.
And this is the moment when you break your TV.
So anyways, NBC just released this super weak apology that totally skirts the giant Kris Jenner in the room.
“While we dedicated a substantial amount of airtime to the anniversary events, we still touched a nerve with many of your viewers…and for that we apologize,” says Steve Capus, president of NBC news in a memo that was only sent to NBC staff.
Other than that, the rest of the email was about how “brilliant” Savannah and Matt “are together” and how the rest of the TODAY episode was great.
The internal memo was leaked by an NBC insider who was obviously miffed by the 9/11 mishap.
A source told RadarOnline.com that Kris Jenner is reportedly “very upset” because she wants us to believe she doesn’t LOVE the attention.
“Kris is a big supporter of the troops and she’s very upset about this,” an insider told RadarOnline.com, “She had absolutely nothing to do with the decision to skip the national moment of silence on 9/11 and suddenly she’s in the middle of it and it’s her face being shown on TV.”
