Kris Humphries\' First TV Appearance Solo: \"I Don\'t Play Into the Gossip\"
Kris Humphries appeared on Good Morning America today in his first solo TV appearance ever and his first TV appearance since Kim Kardashian filed for divorce 5 weeks ago.

And what did the newly single bachelor with 72 days worth of Kim Kardashian gossip have to dish about? Nothing.

He appeared with his mother in a “cookie baking” segment and talked about nothing but basketball. Was there no TV chef available for the cookie segment? I can’t even imagine the logic of how they arrived on Kris Humphries.

'Hey, we need someone for the cookie baking segment? Is there anyone we can get, that I dunno, is only famous by association and would seem ridiculously out of place hovering over a cookie tray? Get me Kris Humphries on the phone!'

Here are the few gossipy things we could pull from the interview. He said Kim and her “sources” can unleash all the gossip, drama, and lies about him that they want, he says he’s not going to play dirty like they do.

“I think that if people know me they know who I am and what I stand for,” he said. “I’m a fun guy and I don’t play into the gossip. That’s life.”

Getting married on TV, getting divorced two months later, “that’s life” man.

When GMA wondered if the relationship ended because of the pressure of the reality TV cameras, Humphries says he doesn’t know.

“I can’t say for sure. It’s the only time I’ve been married. [But] I’ve been in front of cameras on the NBA since I was 19,” admits Humphries.

The show asked if he still loved Kim K, he laughed and said, “I’m focused on just what I can control, which is being ready to play ball and supporting my mom and her cookie baking.”

I don’t even know if he used the word “k” ever in the interview!

He also adds, “Through everything I’ve just focused on family and preparing for basketball. Basketball is something I take really seriously and I continue to do that. You know, I’m just moving forward.”

I wish at some point someone would have just asked him, “so why are you here? And you can’t use the words ‘cookie’ or ‘basketball.’”

When asked about his plans for the annulment that have been buzzing around the internet, he dodged the question, “I’m really right now focused on basketball and other things will take care of themselves, you know?”

And here’s one more basketball quote. Happy Friday.

“I’m excited to be close to playing basketball,” says Humphries, “In the off season, I’ve been doing a lot of work with my foundation, spending time with my family, working on my game a lot.”
