Kris Allen was crowned the new
American Idol tonight beating out Idol favorite
Adam Lambert during the show's season finale.
The quiet 23 year-old from Arkansas shook his head with disbelief as his name was called, because he truly didn't believe he could have won the title.
While Kris scrambles to understand how he was crowned the new Idol, one things for certain: his life will never be the same again after tonight.
Backstage, just moments after he was declared the winner, Hollyscoop caught up with Kris to ask how he feels his personal life will change after tonight.
"I think that hopefully me and my wife will get some more time together, not being in Arkansas as much as I was," he told Hollyscoop.com.
"I'm just happy that I have a music career," said Kris. "Since I was 13 years old, I knew this is what I wanted to do," he added.
When asked if he was ready for stardom, he said, "I feel like I'm ready. American Idol boot camp got me ready," he joked.
The turning point in the competition for Kris was arguably his performance of
Kanye West's
Heartless. When asked if he got any feedback from Kanye, Kris said, "I haven't heard from him personally, but I hear he really liked it, which is nice."
So what's next for this young Idol? Music, music, and more music. Kris said he can't wait to get in the studio and get to work. We just hope this sweet young man from Arkansas is ready for what's about to come his way.
