Older rich people living in the Hamptons are currently experiencing the worst crisis in their old rich lives thus far. Why? Because Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian have just moved to the Hamptons for three months.
OH NO GAWD THE HORROR!
The Queens of Calabasas have also opened a DASH pop-up store right next to a Southampton restaurant the Driver’s Seat, which is a longstanding local watering hole in town. People are literally acting like someone has set the Hamptons on fire.
“I view [the Kardashian situation] like people viewed the plague in the Middle Age. I just want to survive it,” said Jerry Della Famina, a Bridgehampton resident, to Page Six.
“I hope [the Kardashian presence] becomes a non-event," said Southampton Mayor Mark Epley.
“People are talking like it’s Armageddon,” said author and resident Steven Gaines.
“The Kardashians really repulse people because they are cheapening the [Hamptons] brands. Thank God they are only staying for three months,” added Gaines.
Even people on Yelp are losing their minds about it, posting hate comments about the Kardashians on the Yelp page for the restaurant NEXT DOOR to their DASH store.
Residents are even trying to take action against Irma Herzog, the woman who rented the retail space to the Kardashians.
“[Irma’s] being tormented and harassed by Southamptonites,” said an insider.
“...People are going to avoid Southampton! [Irma] should be brought up on charges.”
And that is how Southamptonites feel about the Kardashians moving into their community.
