Kobe is set to not only get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but he's going to become the first athlete to have a hand and foot print ceremony at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Hello...that's reserved for actual movie stars!!
Screen legends like John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe and Brad Pitt have their hands and feet set in cement in front of the Hollywood landmark and now all of a sudden a basketball player in moving into the neighborhood? WTF?!
The ceremony is set to take place on Feb. 19, the day before the All-Star game at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Is the city of Los Angeles that broke? They must be doing this to up the tourists in Hollywood. The gift shops are probably suffering and they figure if they give Kobe a foot print ceremony die-hard fans will come out to see him in action.
I'm all for him getting praise for being a great athlete, but getting his own footprints next to the biggest movie stars is just ridiculous. He's never even been in a movie, and no, being in an episode of Moesha doesn't count!
