Kimora Lee Simmons and her soon to be baby daddy Djimon Hounsou are already married! But before you congratulate them, you're going to have to wait until they make the union legal.
Kimora and Djimon got married over the summer on a transcontinental trip to Hounsou’s native Benin, Africa, but they've yet to make it legal in the United States.
Kimora was still married to ex husband Russell Simmons at the time of her wedding, so the couple couldn't legalize their union.
“Both Kimora and Djimon wore traditional dashikis,” an insider told the
New York Daily News.
“She went whole hog with the African theme - there were African drums, a traditional ceremony with dancers . . . they even had a hut!”
Her little girls Aoki and Ming were present for the ceremony, but were left confused by it. “Aoki slept through the entire ceremony, and Ming cried. They were pretty confused as to what was going on,” says the source.
Kimora and Russell finalized their divorce on January 29, 2009, but Kimora and Djimon still haven't filed for a marriage license. Maybe the alimony payments she's been getting from Russell are just too good to give up?!
