Which is surprising, because everyone on that show seems so level-headed and sober. Next you’re gonna tell me they’ve had botox or something. Crazytalk!
On last season’s finale of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kim Richards battled with her sister, Kyle, who accused her of being an alcoholic. Then, this season, when Richards went to Dr. Nassif to get some work done, he revealed that her prescription medication mixing was contributing to her bizarre behavior.
"When you're on numerous medications for moods, and you combine them all together, and possibly the dosing may be off, it can cause some of those symptoms of the eyes a little glassy, a little bit of slurring of the words ... just looking like you're not completely with it," he explained.
Well, it looks like Kim does have a problem, and multiple sources have confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that Richards is indeed seeking treatment.
Back in October, RHOBH noob Brandi Glanville also accused Kim of being “wasted out of her f-cking mind” during an episode. Kim responded by hiding Brandi’s crutches. Which is ironically, only something a grown woman who is wasted out of her f-cking mind would do.
Anyway, Brandi’s accusation erupted into one of the hugest fights of the season. But as it turns out, I guess Brandi was right.
It was revealed in this season that Richards has been taking anti-anxiety and antidepressant medications, along with an anti-seizure medication, which can be used to treat alcohol problems. Richards has revealed in the past that she struggled with alcoholism.
And reportedly, Kim’s behavior was prompting show producers to fire her unless she sought treatment.
“She may have to go to rehab in order to save her job on the show,” a source close to Richards told Star. “People involved with the show are concerned and might have to step in ... friends and family don’t talk about what’s going on with Kim.”
During the first season, Kyle Richards, Kim’s sister, said she was “delusional” and “demented,” yelling:
“You are a liar… you are an alcoholic! Yeah, that's right. I've said it now and everybody knows."
After that scene aired, a written banner told viewers that Kim was then checked into rehab by her family at the time, but she checked herself out a week later.
Reps for Bravo haven’t commented on the matter.
