Barbara Walter’s will continue her tradition of listing and interviewing the years 10 Most Fascinating people in a 90-minute ABC News Special to broadcast on Wednesday December 14 on ABC.

Listing some of the years most prominent names in entertainment, sports and pop culture, Barbara Walters Presents the 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011, and the people she’s choosing to highlight will indeed “fascinate you,” as in, how the heck did they make the cut?

The special includes fascinating people like the entire Kardashian family. I guess they are fascinating. A family who made millions by dating athletes and promoting diet shakes is very fascinating.

X-Factor judge and creator Simon Cowell will also be featured. The “gay couple” from Modern Family, Jesse Tyler Ferduson and Eric Stonestreet will also be featured. MLB star and NY Yankees captain Derek Jeter also made the list. Donald Trump will be there too.

Surprisingly, Katy Perry is also deemed “fascinating,” I guess what’s fascinating is how long her pink hair has stayed so vibrant while not causing all her hair to fall out. And the most fascinating of all is Pippa Middleton, The Duchess of Cambridge’s “famous by association” kid sister.

The number 1 most fascinating person will be revealed during the program. Last years 2010 most fascinating person was Gen. David Petraeus, who was the top US commander in Afghanistan. So it’s safe to say that 2011 wont go to Pippa Middleton or the Kardashians. Sorry girls, but you’re not save-the-world fascinating.

The TV special is in its 19th season and is always one of the highest rated specials of the year.

I hope the award goes to Ryan Gosling. What’s that, he’s not even nominated? Well, he should still win! Occupy Fascinating People!

Last year some of the most fascinating people included Justin Beiber, Betty White, Jennifer Lopez and the cast of the Jersey Shore. Yes, that’s right, the Jersey Shore kids. I guess they were kind of the “wild card” honorees last year. Sarah Palin also made the list last year, probably because Tina Fey was unavailable.

In 18 seasons, Walters has picked a mixed group of "Most Fascinating Person(s)." Some past top honorees include, Michelle Obama, Barack Obama, J.K. Rowling, Nancy Pelosi, Camilla Parker Bowles, Paris Hilton, Laura Bush, Lance Armstrong, Gen. Tommy Franks, Colin Powell, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Nelson Mandela and more.
